First of all, introduction of the company, reason for the visit and naming of all those involved in the appointment.
Make small talk with the customer
✗ Religion, politics, weather, traffic situation
✓ Respond to customer situation (menu, events at the customer) Topics that are important to the customer such as hobbies (pictures in the office, kitchen equipment, etc. also often give information about interests)
Orientation in the kitchen - Collect useful information.
✓ Expensive kitchen equipment → Customer also relies on quality goods in other areas → Respond to higher product quality through filtration
✓ Customer uses reusable packaging → importance to sustainability → Address VITOgreen
! If you want to use the customer's inventory, always ask permission first and explain what they are needed for (This way the customer already knows approximately what will happen during the demonstration).
✓ "Can I turn on the deep fryer already?" / "May I use your ladle?"
✗ Touching and using things of the customer without permission..
! If the fryer is not yet at operating temperature (approx. 170 degrees) at the beginning of the appointment, make the customer switch it on.
! Also ask if the dishwasher is already turned on and make sure you are allowed to use it after the demonstration.
Unpack the VITO frying oil filter and oiltester before starting the demo →
The focus remains on the demo and no longer needs to be interrupted.
Utensils needed for a perfect demonstration:
Ladle (To take the oil sample)
2 White cups/bowls (Before and after sample of oil)
Flat stainless steel plate/tray (To demonstrate the dirty filter)
Cloth (To wipe the oil tester)
After we have introduced ourselves and all the utensils are ready, the demo starts with the measurement of the oil quality.
! The measurement happens before the filtration, so that the focus is later only on the VITO.
! Before starting, make sure that the fryer is at operating temperature and then ideally switch it off.
For the measurement, please refer to the short instructions of the tester.
Switch on the FT440 / FT CONNECT and hold it in the fryer (note min and max on the front of the sensor).
Stir the tester in the frying oil
Explain the customer that the quality of the frying oil is measured
Explanation of the displayed color light: green, yellow and red (traffic light function)
Main benefit for the customer: He always knows the exact time when to change his frying oil.
! Do not refer to the TPM values, only if explicitly requested by the customer.
✗ "The tester now shows 11% TPM, so your oil can still be used today.""
This gives the customer the opportunity to ask questions, where it is then easy to lose focus,
which should be on the VITO frying oil filter.
✓ "The tester shows green, so your oil can be used today!''
When explicitly asked about the TPM values, professional, brief, and direct answers should be given.
What exactly is measured?
It measures the quality of frying oil and displays it in a traffic light system:
Green: Your frying oil is in a perfect condition
Orange: Your frying oil is still good to use
Red : Your frying oil needs to be changed
Can we measure again with the oil tester after the demo?
Yes, however, a falsified value will be displayed because the frying oil is not in a calm state. The best possible test result is achieved in the morning after heating the oil up but before frying.
Furthermore, we do not recycle the oil with VITO, which means that the values do not improve after filtration.
The value increases more slowly and you reach the limit value later
→ You can't make green frying oil out of red frying oil!
What exactly is TPM?
TPM is the term for total polar material and describes the decomposition of the frying oil. The limits vary from country to country and are set by the regulatory authority.
Can any oil be measured with the tester?
Basically, you have the ability to measure and document any type of frying oil with the tester.
What is the limit value? Until when can I use my frying oil?
The frying oil can be used up to the limit in the country of use. This varies from country to country.
How to document the values?
We offer you a HACCP list, which is enclosed with the delivery. This can be used to enter the measurement results. There is also the possibility to use VITOconnect to document the measured values.
